From the 3rd of February 2021, a brand new kickstart scheme will be introduced by the British government, with the aim of providing funding for new job placements for 16 to 24-year-olds all across the country. To apply for the kickstart scheme, you must first consider applying online to secure potential work placements.
Who Is The Kickstart Scheme For?
The government kickstart scheme works for primarily young people who are both at risk of long term unemployment from their current place of work, and those who are on Universal Credit. Almost any employer, no matter the size, will have the opportunity to apply for funding. However, if you’re unsure, we recommend visiting the official website for more information and further details.
Can I Apply For Funding?
You are more than likely to be eligible to apply for this scheme, as an employer, and the funding itself will cover all of your employees who are on either National Minimum Wage, National Living Wage, or if they’ve contributed and associated in some way with National Insurance. Once again, for further details, we recommend you viewing the official government page regarding National Insurance.
The start of job placements can only be placed up until the end of December 2021 by employers who have chosen to take part in the kickstart scheme, and an application can be made for any number of job placements by any one employer. Note: further funding or alterations in grant agreements may be an option if necessary, in order for the correct support and training to be offered and completed to ensure the employees’ success later down the line.
How Can I Apply For The Kickstart Scheme?
Employers can begin applying for these job placements and the kickstart government scheme in general from, once again, the 3rd of February 2021. Depending on the number of job placements you are applying for, there are two different applications to fill in: one for 29 and below, and one for 30 and above.
You also have the option to apply through a Kickstart Gateway, and many have already been working with the scheme. You can apply for the scheme by visiting the official Kickstarter Scheme government website and putting in your details.
